WHY SERVE HERE?
Members of the Next Steps New Members Team play a vital role in helping those considering becoming members of Christ Community feel valued and included right from the start. You get to pass on Christ Community's mission, values, and culture within the overall purposes of God. It's also an opportunity for you to teach in the foreground or serve in the background!
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
NEXT STEPS FACILITATOR
Next Steps Facilitators share the New Members curriculum on 1st Sundays after service. Next Steps Facilitators can rotate facilitation so they teach several times per year v. every month. There is a prepared Next Steps power point presentation. Each class typically lasts 60 - 80 minutes.
Requirements to Serve as a Next Steps Facilitator
1. Participate as an observer in Next Steps Classes to understand the flow.
2. Ability to communicate with audience in an engaging way.
3. Desire to help people feel welcomed into an unfamiliar situation.
4. Ablity to articulate how you came to faith in Jesus Christ.
5. Ability to use existing Power Point presentation.
6. Arrive by 9:15AM on Sunday mornings where you will be facilitating to participate in the pre-service "Prayer Huddle" at 9:30 AM.
NEXT STEPS ASSISTANT
Next Steps Assistants serve an important role in helping the Next Steps Facilitator(s) by helping to prepare the room, helping to greet class participants, taking pictures at the end of class, and participating with the class audience where appropriate. This is a "behind-the-scenes" position that has a great impact on the flow of the class.
Requirements to Serve as a Next Steps Assistant
1. Participate as an observer in Next Steps Classes to understand the flow.
2. Desire to help people feel welcomed into an unfamiliar situation.
3. Ablity to articulate how you came to faith in Jesus Christ.
4. Arrive by 9:15AM on Sunday mornings where you will be facilitating to participate in the pre-service "Prayer Huddle" at 9:30 AM AND then to help set up the Classroom for the Next Steps participants (place chairs, set up the provided snacks, etc.).
5. Take pictures of each new member at the end of class.
